O ranking de pessoas mais ricas do mundo listado pela Forbes encolheu em 2023: foram contabilizados 2.640 super ricos no mundo, contra 2.668 do ano anterior. Somada, a fortuna desses ricaços caiu de US$ 12,7 trilhões para US$ 12,2 trilhão.
A queda atingiu também o Brasil. Em 2022, havia 62 nomes representando o país. Neste ano, são apenas 51. Entre os super ricos brasileiros, a melhor colocação ficou com Vicky Safra e sua família, herdeiros de Joseph Safra, fundador do Banco Safra. A família aparece na 100ª posição do ranking geral, com uma fortuna avaliada em US$ 16,7 bilhões.
A liderança do ranking global ficou com Bernard Arnault e sua família. O empresário e investidor construiu sua fortuna após fundar a LVMH, holding multinacional fabricante de artigos de luxo, responsável por marcas como Tiffany & Co., Christian Dior, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Sephora e Bulgari.
